Adults
Adults Department
Adult learners enter a language course with different motivations, time constraints, and life experiences; for some, language is a gateway to career opportunities; for others, it's a tool for immigration, travel, or simply reaching a personal goal they've put off for years.
Faratar's Adults Department was designed for this reality: adults have limited time and need tangible results, while still deserving the same academic depth and systematic design Faratar has defined for all its departments. For this reason, this department is built around two distinct paths, based on the two different goals adults typically have for learning a language.
Methodology
Each course consists of 14 live sessions — two days a week, 90 minutes per session. The fifteenth session is dedicated to the end-of-term exam, held online.
Alongside live sessions, a package of offline activities forms an equally important part of the learning path, to be completed throughout the term according to the schedule posted on the website (which the teacher also communicates).
Throughout this path — in both live sessions and offline activities — ongoing assessment takes place, with teachers and the support team providing the necessary feedback. This assessment is reported as a grade on the website in two stages: once at session seven, and once at the end of the term (based on the session-fifteen final exam). The final grade is issued as a certificate and placed in the learner's personal profile on the website.
Path One: Conversation
This path is designed for learners pursuing a specific, non-academic goal: the ability to converse for travel and everyday language use. Its focus is on practical listening and speaking skills — without needing to follow the formal path of international exams. On this path, learners achieve fluent speaking ability and the practical use of language in real travel and everyday situations, with the same quality and systematic design as the rest of Faratar.
Path Two: Academic & International Path
This path is designed for learners pursuing the language more seriously — typically with the goal of immigration, an international career opportunity, or further education, and with the intention of taking a recognized international exam. This path follows the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), and at the end of each defined level, the learner takes the corresponding international exam.
A learner whose goal is the IELTS exam transfers from the Adults Department to Faratar's IELTS Department at the end of the Upper-Intermediate level and continues their IELTS preparation path in that department.
