Kids Department
Age groups: Primary (ages 6–9) and Junior (ages 10–12)
Learning a language in childhood is like planting a sapling — you see the results not in a day, but over a journey. Faratar's Kids Department is designed for two age groups, Primary (ages 6–9) and Junior (ages 10–12), where English is learned through play, images, movement, and conversation — not memorization and pressure.
In this department, every session is built on the same core principle emphasized throughout the Faratar teaching framework: psychological safety comes first. A child must be able to make mistakes, laugh, and try again without fear of judgment. The content is designed to match children's different learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic-tactile), presented in both age groups with depth and complexity suited to that age.
Alongside language skills, 21st-century life skills — based on the Cambridge Life Competencies Framework — are woven into the activities at a foundational, introductory level in this department, not taught as a separate subject but experienced through simple activities like group work, expressing an idea, or making a craft. At this age, the goal is early exposure and a natural first experience of these skills — a foundation that is developed more consciously and deeply in Faratar's later departments.
Our goal in these years is not just to teach a handful of words or sentences; it is to build the child's first positive experience of learning a language — an experience that shapes how they will view learning, and themselves, in the future.
Methodology
Each course level spans one academic term of 14 live sessions — two days a week, 90 minutes per session. The fifteenth session is dedicated to the end-of-term exam, held online.
Alongside live sessions, a package of offline activities forms an equally important part of the learning path, to be completed throughout the term according to the schedule posted on the website (which the teacher also communicates).
Throughout this path — in both live sessions and offline activities — ongoing assessment takes place, with teachers and the support team providing the necessary feedback. This assessment is reported as a grade on the website in two stages: once at session seven, and once at the end of the term (incorporating the session-fifteen final exam). The final grade is issued as a certificate and placed in the learner's personal profile on the website.
Cambridge International Exams (Cambridge YLE)
Faratar's children's language path is designed in line with the global standard of Cambridge Young Learners English exams. At the end of each defined level, the learner sits the corresponding international exam, and the result is an objective, globally recognized measure of their language level — not just Faratar's internal assessment.
These exams are not exams in the stressful sense of the word; they are an opportunity for the child to see how far they've come and to experience their progress in a globally recognized, credible format.
