Teens Department

Adolescence is a period when identity takes shape, independence gains meaning, and the world beyond home and school grows more important. Faratar's Teens Department was designed with this understanding — English here is not a school subject, but a tool for thinking, discussing, and expressing oneself.

In this department, learners engage with topics that are meaningful to them: film, music, social media, and current world issues. Our focus isn't limited to grammatical accuracy or vocabulary range; it's on developing 21st-century life skills, from critical thinking to the ability to engage consciously with AI-generated content.

The teen learning path at Faratar has three consecutive stations: Fluency, Mastery, and Beyond Mastery — a path that begins with building general, practical language and reaches academic mastery and beyond.

Methodology

Each course level spans one academic term of 14 live sessions — two days a week, 90 minutes per session. The fifteenth session is dedicated to the end-of-term exam, held online.

Alongside live sessions, a package of offline activities forms an equally important part of the learning path, to be completed throughout the term according to the schedule posted on the website (which the teacher also communicates).

Throughout this path — in both live sessions and offline activities — ongoing assessment takes place, with teachers and the support team providing the necessary feedback. This assessment is reported as a grade on the website in two stages: once at session seven, and once at the end of the term (based on the session-fifteen final exam). The final grade is issued as a certificate and placed in the learner's personal profile on the website.

1. Fluency | General English (Starter to Upper-Intermediate)

This section is the foundation and main body of Faratar's teen language path — spanning, according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), from A1 to the end of B2. Its goal is to bring the learner to a level of language ability that is practical enough for travel, everyday life, and even working in an international environment; at this level, learners can speak, understand, and write English confidently in real-life situations.

At the end of this section, the learner takes the FCE Mock Exam and receives a certificate of participation from Faratar.

2. Mastery | The Language Mastery Path (C1–C2)

Where Fluency ends, a new path begins — not simply continuing to learn the language, but entering the world of academic and specialized English. This section corresponds to CEFR levels C1 and C2 and is designed for learners aiming to continue their studies at international universities, pursue academic career opportunities, or achieve native-speaker-level mastery.

While staying true to the same philosophical principles and educational quality of Faratar, this section has a different structure: the focus shifts from everyday conversation toward skills such as analyzing complex texts, academic writing, reasoning, and formal presentation. On this path, learners take the CAE (C1 Advanced) and CPE (C2 Proficiency) mock exams and receive a certificate of participation from Faratar at the end.

3. Beyond Mastery

The final station on the teen path at Faratar is a course called Beyond Mastery — where the learner is no longer simply seeking to learn the language, but learning how to use it as a tool for thinking, analyzing, and building their academic and professional future. As Faratar has always said, the end of a path is not the end of the journey; Beyond Mastery is exactly the point where the learner's journey continues beyond a language classroom.
